TS PGECET 2021 notification: Here is everything you need to know

Telangana State Post-graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) 2021 notification has been released for the admissions into courses including M.E., M.Tech, M.Pharm, and others in universities and affiliated colleges in Telangana.

Eligibility for TS PGECET 2021

In order to be eligible for the examination, the candidates must be

  1. Indian citizen
  2. Belong to either Telangana or Andhra Pradesh
  3. Must satisfy local/non-local status requirements.
  4. Should have scored at least 50 percent marks in qualifying examination. However, for candidates belonging to reserved category, it is 45 percent.

Examination fee for TS PGECET 2021

Candidates who wish to appear in TS PGECET 2021 have to register online on the official website. The registration fee is Rs. 500 for SC, ST, and PWD candidates whereas, for other candidates, it is Rs. 1000 per test. The last date for registration without a late fee is May 21.

Minimum marks to qualify TS PGECET 2021

As per TS PGECET 2021 notification, the Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to be held from June 19 to 22.  The duration of examination is two hours. During the examination, candidates have to answer 120 multiple choice questions and each question carries one mark. However, there will be no negative mark for incorrect answer.

In order to qualify the examination, the candidate has to score at least 30 marks. However, there is no cutoff for candidates belonging to SC, ST.

Hall tickets can be downloaded from June 10 to 18. Time table of the examination is as follows:

The examination will be conducted in two regions i.e., Hyderabad and Warangal.

Candidates who are appearing in TS PGECET 2021 must note that seats that remain vacant after admitting GATE or GPAT qualified students will be available for them.

TS PGECET counselling 2021 for GATE qualified candidates

GATE or GPAT qualified candidates have to register online to attend TS PGECET counselling 2021. Visit the TS PGEC website. The last date for registration is June 16 and the fee is Rs. 300 for SC, ST, and PWD candidates whereas, for other candidates, it is Rs. 600.

Is there any scholarship for PGECET students?

GATE qualified students who take admission into M.Tech may get financial assistance (scholarship). However, it is better to check with the college in which you are interested to take admission.

Students who qualify TS PGECET and not GATE are not eligible for the AICTE stipend. However, they may get stipend from other source. As it is not mandatory to provide stipend to them, it is better to check with the colleges in which you are interested to take admission.
