The rift between Saudi Arabia and Qatar that started appearing in 2017 is likely to come to an end. Both Kuwait and the United States of America are playing predominant roles in normalizing the relation between the two nations.
The recent disclosure made by the Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah has raised the hopes of all who want to see peace and stability in the region.
He disclosed that fruitful discussion took place to end the rift between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Responding to it, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud appreciated the efforts taken by both Kuwait and the USA.
Why relations got deteriorated?
In the month of June 2017, the diplomatic relations of Qatar with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Egypt got deteriorated.
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt had alleged that Qatar is sponsoring terrorism. However, the gas-rich country had rejected the allegations.
At one point in time, there was a proposal to make Qatar an Island country by digging a canal to separate it from Saudi Arabia.
Now, it seems that both Saudi Arabia and Qatar are in a mood to end the rift and focus on the stability of the region.
In the process, Kuwait and the USA are playing the role of mediators. Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner is active in ending the rift.

It seems that many countries of the Middle East wanted to end old differences and bring stability to the region.
Earlier, the UAE had normalized its diplomatic relation with Israel. Following it, direct flights started operating between Dubai and Tel Aviv.
Saudi Arabia too allowed Israeli flight to use its airspace.
Qatar
Geographical Qatar is located in the Persian Gulf. It is surrounded by water from three sides. It shares land borders only with Saudi Arabia.
Gulf of Bahrain separates Qatar from Bahrain. Gulf of Persian separates the gas rich country from the UAE.
