Examination postponed

Due to coronavirus pandemic, many common entrance tests including TSPGECET have been postponed.

Even the Central Government postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) and Joint Entrance Examination – Main.

Will delay in exam impact academic year?

Although the delay in the entrance exams will impact the duration of the academic year, the Government is likely to take decision to ensure quality of education.

Due to the pandemic, globally, most educational activities have been shifted to online. However, it is not appropriate in India as it may create hurdles for students belonging to rural areas.

Dilemma prevails as on one hand, traditional classes is risky due to pandemic, on the other, online education is likely to deprive educational opportunity to rural and poor students.

Way forward: Traditional classes with physical distancing and other precautionary measures can be considered. However, it is not the best solution as it also carries risk of virus spread.
